General Convocation

Picture
Ambassadors of Christ General Convocation is the annual meeting of the International Body of Believers who are united as Christ’s Ambassadors around the world. General Convocation serves as the voice to establish doctrine and ensure that representation as Ambassadors of Christ remains consistent throughout the organization.

The day-to-day operations of the Church are vested in the Board of Regents. The Board of Regents conveins regularly in plenary sessions of the Convocation, as needed for specific purposes, including but not limited to: disciplinary hearings, administration of certain rites of the Church, and responding to the urgent matters within a particular region or district.

The General Convocation is a collaborative body composed of esteemed Members, Elders,Deacons, Curates, Seminarians, Missionaries, and Bishops, who represent the central governing structure within Ambassadors of Christ. This assembly works in close partnership with the three core areas that define the Ambassadors of Christ's mission: Worship, Education, and Service.

Worship: The General Convocation oversees and guides the development of worship practices, ensuring that worship services are spiritually enriching, doctrinally sound, and accessible to all members of the community. This may involve the creation of worship resources, training of worship leaders, and the establishment of standards for worship spaces.

Education: Recognizing the importance of spiritual growth, emotional, and intellectual development, the General Convocation supports and directs educational initiatives within Ambassadors of Christ. This includes, but is not limited to the establishment of Ambassadors of Christ Theological Seminary, local Christian Education Schools, the development of Educational Materials , and the provisions of resources for lifelong learning.

Service: The General Convocation fosters a culture of  Christian service and compassion within the Ambassadors of Christ communities. This involves the organization of service projects, the provision of support to those in need, and the promotion of social justice and advocacy.

Through our collaborative efforts with these three core areas, the General Convocation works to ensure that Ambassadors of Christ remain committed to God’s mission of spreading the Gospel, nurturing spiritual growth, and serving the community.

The General Convocation, under the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit, is steadfastly committed to nurturing and cultivating a vibrant model of Christian Community. As Ambassadors of Christ, we are called to exemplify His love and grace, continually striving to uphold and promote Christian values and an authentic life deeply rooted in the Word of God.

Our core mission is to guide individuals towards a transformative salvation experience of restoration and reconciliation with Christ. We believe that through the power of the Gospel, lives can be renewed, and relationships can be mended.

In every community where God places His Ambassadors, we are dedicated to developing and strengthening the faith community. This is achieved through dynamic worship experiences that uplift and inspire, comprehensive educational programs that nurture spiritual growth and understanding, and impactful outreach ministries that extend the love of Christ to those in need.

We believe that the Christian Community is not confined within the walls of a church building but is called to be a beacon of light and hope in the world. Through our collective efforts, we seek to create a community where all individuals feel welcomed, valued, and loved, and where the transformative power of the Gospel is evident in every aspect of our lives.

The Community of faith is intentionally developed because we believe that the sense of community is valuable in and of itself. The Bishops and Elders work together with other leaders and member of the Church to better serve God. the idea of practical holiness is not a list of rules and regulations, but a means by which one enters into relationship honoring God in everyday life. Ambassadors of Christ understand that all things come from Almighty God, and therefore, God does all things decently and in order. This means if something does not make sense, it is probably not from God. in other words, if God tells the Christian to love his or her neighbor, but the regulations of belief are contrary to God's command (the Love of God in our example), our conclusion is that God's Word is true. when studied and understood in the context as God intended. Whereas directives certainly do have their purpose, to approach those rules as a "checklist to holiness" is legalism; and it is wrong. For this reason, the General Convocation is committed to protecting the Integrity of the Bible, and upholding the Canon of Ambassadors of Christ as the means for our self-government as one body in Christ.

Each year, beginning on the fourth Thursday of May, General Convocation becomes a global hub of spiritual connection. Delegates from all corners of the world converge for this significant event. It is an occasion where pastors and leaders can exchange insights and experiences, where friends and family can strengthen their bonds, and where guests can encounter the warmth and vibrancy of a global faith community.

The Convocation serves many purposes: worship, prayer, learning, growth, and celebration of God's work. It also provides rest and renewal, offering respite from everyday life and a chance to be refreshed and revitalized by the Holy Spirit. During the Annual General Convocation, specialized committees address pressing cultural and societal issues specific to various regions. These committees research, discuss, and propose innovative, Christian-value-aligned solutions, aiming to promote well-being and honor Jesus Christ.
