Ambassadors of Christ operate to glorify God the Father, through Jesus Christ, the Son, by the Power of the Holy Spirit. We are a congregation of Holiness believers. As the larger assembly of Christians, we challenge the misconceived ideas of bigotry and racism. We are a congregation that maintains without wavering that Whosoever will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord is welcome at the Lord's Table without exception. What does this mean? As General Convocation, we stand with those who are wealthy, poor, white, black, LGBTQ+, able, and disabled, and any other person oppressed by society. Where others close their doors, we welcome all, as Jesus Christ our Lord does. Jesus has commanded those who carry the name of Christ (Christian) to:
Love each other as Christ has loved us.
Share in the Unity of the Spirit.
Share the Gospel with the lost on this planet.
Defend the outcasts
Cease fighting among Believers. Fights cause untold thousands to turn their faces from God, which is entirely unacceptable.
Holiness is the lifeblood of Christian life. Therefore, it must be lived out in everyday life.
Who are Ambassadors of Christ?
As Ambassadors of Christ our leaders exemplify Love, Liberation, Leadership, and Launch. LOVE All Christians are called to experience the love of Christ, love Christ in return and love others. LIBERATE As Christians God has given us the Ministry of Reconciliation to liberate individuals, In reconciliation we work to break away from a state of being or situations that limit the freedom of thought. Furthermore, liberation draws us out of unhealthy behaviors by presenting the saving grace of God made available to everyone through Jesus Christ alone. LEAD Christian leadership is not motivated by power but by service. Ambassadors of Christ lead the people of God into deeper relationships with God and people with the attitude of servant leaders through Christian discipleship. LAUNCH. To Launch means that as Christians God calls individuals, sets them free, and raises up leaders to set in motion the work of grace that is known in everyday life as the Church.
The goal of our leadership is not to create programs or make money, but to be and make Christlike disciples in our everyday lives, our communities, states, countries, and the world. The principles above are not a test of fellowship, but they are the framework of faith, practice, and commitment that unite all Christians as a Covenant people. These are the foundations for covenant relationships connecting God and people to the One Holy, Universal Christian and Apostolic Church. In every instance, Christians must seek to promote Christian unity among believers who are torn and divided by controversies over creeds, disciplines, ecclesiastical power, organization, and by the sectarian spirit of the times. The invocation of unity is the call to all Christians and congregations to come together because of the Bible alone and to stand on the universal grounds united in the One Spirit.
Guidelines for Christian Life
Having entered the New Life in Jesus Christ, as Ambassadors of Christ, we dedicate ourselves to be servant-leaders of Christ for the people of God. We recognize that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we serve Him. We do not help with an expectation of recognition, compensation, or gratitude. As Ambassadors of Christ, we serve with rejoicing. Our service is, therefore, tendered as a gift from God, out of love for God. We have been set apart to be Holy. We are examples of Christ to the people. Thus, we daily ask ourselves:
Do people see Christ in me?
Will my example lead others to want to serve Christ more fully?
As Ambassadors of Christ, we do not consider any task too small. We challenge ourselves and others to be dependable, be loyal, sincere, and protective of human dignity.
When circumstances dictate that we miss a commitment, we do our best to send someone in our place. We take every possible step to communicate the changes in advance with our leaders if possible.
Ambassadors of Christ understand that a leader who causes disunity is not a leader at all. Accordingly, we deal directly with individuals and never through gossip. Everything that we hear is sorted carefully, and little is shared with others, if at all. In the same manner that "loose lips sink ships," loose lips sink churches and weaken the witness of Christ. It is unethical to share something given in confidence with others who are not able to use discretion in speech. Those confidential matters shared with leaders are for our guidance alone, not our entertainment, or the enjoyment of others.
As Ambassadors of Christ, you are being trusted with the life and welfare of the people of God. The goal for the Christian is to demonstrate to the congregation and World that living a Christlike life is different from the ways of the World.
